Advancing your Liberty

Have you been wanting to advance your liberty skills with your horse? Come join us for a deeper dive into Liberty work. We will take the foundational exercises you learned in the Intro to Liberty clinic and take you and your horse to the next step in performance Liberty!!!

In the Advancing your Liberty clinic, you will learn how to create greater distance in the back up and begin a recall cue, begin shaping liberty circle, teach sidepass from position 2 and teach the sidepass towards you cue, teaching target training and much more!

For this clinic, you will need to have completed my Intro to Liberty clinic and be able to complete all the exercises in a round pen at liberty.

The Advancing your Liberty clinic will be open to 6 participants only and will be formatted into individualized one on one sessions of 2 sessions per day.

The clinic will begin at 9am sharp with an hour lunch from noon to 1 and we should be able to finish up around 4 each day.

Participants need to have a lunge whip and carriage whip and dressage whip and bring a bag of treats for your horse to begin target training.

About the clinician: Naomi Rutter learned about Liberty while training her mustang Bravo. She fell in love with the discipline because of how it created a deeper connection between her and Bravo. Naomi has since then thoroughly explored the discipline by working with some of the finest liberty trainers in the county include Hannah Catalino and Luke Gingerich. She has performed at Liberty at Equine Affair, the ILHA Liberty Festival and the Michigan Horse Expo. Naomi feels the Liberty is the ultimate lie detector as it allows the horse to show how they truly feel and it challenges the handler to become more aware of not only their horse but themselves as well. Naomi runs her training facility in Chatham, Mi where she incorporates Liberty into her daily training programs.

Weekend stalls are $50 and Weekend camping is $50.
